Prepping for the last day at work

I have planned to resign from the college where I worked after completing my degree because I had made plans to take a step ahead in my life. Staff there is like family and students are very friendly with me, so the decision to resign was a hard one. But I didn't have any second thoughts of that because I objectively thought it was time to take my next step. I resigned from the college as planned but the reason was not my initial plans. My dad who was perfectly healthy passed away suddenly due to a heart attack, and I wanted to stay at home with mum during this time. Since my reason changed, my managers tried to make me stay by being so flexible and accommodating to address my needs and situations, but still, I went ahead with my plan.

Out of all the batches I taught, there is one batch which I got attached more since I spent more time with me. I realized that they were attached to me too after seeing their reactions when they heard that u was leaving. They were the ones who gave me so many my options after the managers... They were even ready to talk to the manager to request to let me do online classes if I can't travel and one student was even ready to give me lifts without realizing I'm almost 100kms away from Colombo 😅 Amidst all the chaos, I felt very blessed to receive so much of love from my dear staff and students.

So I wanted to show some gratitude to the love they showed me on the day I resign. Since the occasion didn't really call for a farewell treat or a party, I decides to give them a lil gift. I specifically wanted to give the staff a gift that they keep on their office tables. I thought of what we already have in the office and what we didn't have, and finally settled for photo frames. I also made lil card and wrote a personalized letter for each and every person to appreciate them.

Selecting a gift for my troublesome kids was the tricky part since they are a batch of all guys whose interests change of each other greatly. I co-taught their both General English and IELTS programs, and they are gonna write their IELTS exam soon. So I bought micro led pencils for them which they can use to write their exams. And finally I found cute thank you bags to give my gifts. I didn't have much time to prep these with household chores, but I could manage to do all of these the day before I resigned.

While I was shopping for these, I thought of buying an outfit for my last day since shopping helps me when I'm in a bad mood. I'm living a very black and white life these days cz I'm not really in a mood for colourful thimgs, but my big sis could persuade me to wear a light pink dress. That was also settled for my last day at such a dear place to my heart.
