Walks

One thing that I feel bad about shifting to Colombo is how the freedom of my doggies got limited. Our hometown house yard was big and the dogs could roam in the neighborhood too since it is not a busy road and they know all the neighbors. Wellawatta house only has a small front yard and it is by the busy Galle road to which my kiddos are not used to. Mimi who grew up six years feeling the owner of the area felt very uncomfortable about the limited space as she loves running and zoomies. What we could do for them is taking them out for daily walks.

The walks usually took place in the marine drive after 6pm. The scenery at that time is breathtaking and it is not only fun for them but also relaxing for us. Our two female dogs love the attention that they are getting from the passersby which made them behave like really good girls. However, our little Bella who is overexcited all the time gets tired after sometime due to her overexcited running and Mimi refuses to turn back if she didn’t at least spend more than an hour outside. So what we have to do is carrying her like a baby after she gets tired to walk. She also enjoys role playing as a human baby girl.

We also get very tired after walking for hour and two. It is not easy somedays to bring ourselves out to walk after spending eventful tiring days, but we decided to raise them, so we have to take the responsibility to the end. So we make sure to keep them happy, and it feels rewarding after seeing their happy face and the mesmerizing sunsets.
