If there have been any childhood crushes (related to movies) that haven't changed over time is my craze for Shah Ruk, Vijay and Dhanush. The fangirling lunacy is only increasing as the time passes, not at all decreasing by a decimal. So obviously, I was one of the people who went crazy after getting to know Gilli is being re-released.
Gilli was a 2004 movie which made Vijay more famoused. I was only 4 years old then, so I got to watch it for the first time when I was around 10 years old. I have rewatched it couple of time ever since then. However, I still had to watch it when it was re-released, cz I mean, who would give away the chance to watch it in the theater- obviously not me. I knew that I had to go for it.
I'm not alone in going craze our Vijay, so my movie date is crazier than me. I really like to watch tamil movies with a crowd of fan because it's actually very fun since the crowd also whistles, shouts and sings. This movie brought the audience's engagement to another level as all of them have watched the movie, and thus, very familiar with the dialogues. So everyone also joined to say dialogues with the crowd, specially the famous parts of the movie. The climax of fun was the songs.
I have heard that people usually go to the front and dance along to the songs, but I haven't really seen it before because the recent movies of Vijay's movies were more action focused. But Gilli was known for its songs. Many ran to the the front to dance as soon the first famous song was played. I was in the last row, so I stood up to video it. The next thing I knew was I was being dragged to the front by my partner. As I told you, my date was crazier for Vijay than me. Once I got to know what was happening, I was almost in the front, and to my surprise also, I danced along. I don't even dance in parties because I only dance if I'm comfortable and close with all the people that are present in there. But here all were strangers and I was closer to the screen, but still I felt play because that was a crowd that shared the same passion and I was just one among those crazy people who danced in the front.
This is what I could click before being dragged to the front 😅
That day was soo good, and even though I was not much and just a movie, it was so dreamlike cz I had so much of fun that day. I wish they would re-release Vijay's movies since I prefer Vijay's early movies more.
