So, today I thought to share with you about fruits. The variety of fruits and their includes, what are benefits that you can get by eating those fruits are topic that I supposed to discuss today. Let’s look at them.
1. Lemon
Lemon is a type of citrus fruit and people can easily find it. And also, it is rich in Vitamin C. Apart from that lemon contains potassium, folic acid, pectin, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B-6 and vitamin A. You can drink lemon as juice, or you can add lemon to different types of salads.
Lemon supports heart health, helps control your weight, has the ability to prevent kidney stones, protect against anemia and also it helps to reduce the cancer risk.
2. Strawberries
Strawberries are a delicious fruit which contains high water content and healthy vitamins and minerals. They contain anthocyanins, fiber, potassium, vitamin c, magnesium, thiamin, niacin, vitamin B-6, A and K. You can eat them as raw or making juice, adding to cereals or yoghurt, making smoothies, making jam, adding to any dessert items.
Let’s check the benefits of eating them. Since it contains antioxidant compounds, it helps to protect cells and tissues in your body. Apart from that they help to improve insulin sensitivity, skin protection, osteoarthritis management, better gut health and also possibly lower risk of cancer.
As a Sri Lanka it is not very easy to find them. As I know they only grow in Nuwara Eliya. But when you have a chance try to eat them since they are really good for your health.
3. Grapefruit
Grapefruits are so delicious. They contain fiber, calcium, magnesium, potassium and vitamin C. You can eat them as raw or make juice, adding them to different desserts and making fruit salad and etc.
By eating grapefruits, you will receive protection against oxidative stress and tumors. They support healthy bones, protect from breast cancer, skin cancer and leukemia.
Different types of fruits have different minerals and vitamins. Not only that, but they also give different benefits. So, it is very important to add different types of fruits to your meals.
