Actually, donating blood is very important. Every day there are so many accidents are happening in a country even in Sri Lanka. So, there are so many critical situations are happening every day. Someone may need blood due to some diseases. We know that we can’t give blood to everyone because the donor‘s blood group and the receiver’s blood group should be matched. If it is not there are some other critical situations may happen. Due to that, there is a need for a blood bank.

In Sri Lanka, the National blood transfusion service is established by the government for handling this critical situation. It provides the blood and also the blood component to the hospitals over the country. There are some blood banks are situated in the country for providing blood to everyone in the country who needs them in a critical situation. In our country, there are so many blood donation campaigns are organized. Sri Lankan people are more willing to donate blood. Actually, the donors are participating with this kind of event with a huge interest and only having the hope of helping someone when in a needed situation.

I have got a chance to participate blood donation event which is organized by our faculty. Since my childhood, I wanted to do this but I can’t find any opportunity. So, I got this chance. Doctors and nurses came and they have checked our health because they wanted to know about our health conditions before collecting blood from us. In that form, they were asked so many questions about our history of having some disease and also they measure our weight.

After that I donate my blood. As my first experience, I don’t know what will happen after donating blood. Some students who are donating blood are faint. After seeing this I got a little fear but I participated for this. At the end of the donation, I also feel that I’m going to faint. The nurse who near to me saw this and advise me to stay few minutes on the bed. After few minutes I feel better. I thought the reason is a sudden reduction of blood in my body. After that, I got a small refreshment.

Though I was faint, I feel very happy about what I have done. I could able to save someone’s life. So. I invite all of you who are not participated in donating blood on any day of your life, try to do this because you can save someone’s life in the future.

I also like to donate blood.i remembered when I'm grade 12 class for our project, we did that. That's my 1st experience.

I'm happy to heard about it.. Let's try this another time. . After this situation, I think lots of donation campaign may start

Good job buddy. 💖 It's one of the best I've seen in my Sri Lankan people, they don't think twice to donate.
I have to wait for donating my blood because don't have the required body weight. One day I do it.

Nice to heard about this. yes. As I remember it should be greater than 55 kg or something like that weight for girls. I wish for you. You will able to save someone's life..

Good job dear. As I heard before, in some countries, ppl donate their blood for money. But in my country we donate our blood without thinking twice. I am waiting for donating my blood and my hair one day. Specially blood. I have missed so many chances to donate blood because my weight was less than 50KG. But now, It is ok and I really want to donate my blood to Maharagama Cancer hospital because I saw a TV advertisement inviting people to donate blood. But I am unable to go there and I still find a way for that.

It is nice to heard such a hope. After this situation is over will try. I 'm also waiting for second donation. Yes dr. Some country people do this for money.

Great job janakee 🥰.
