Visit to Surathali Ella Waterfall -Sri Lanka

in hive-133716 •  4 days ago  (edited)

In the previous year, I went to visit Surathali ella which is located in Belihuloya, Sri Lanka. It is a 50m waterfall and it is located near Badulla Colombo road. For this journey, 12 of my colleagues in Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka joined and we initiated our journey from the Pambahinna junction which is near to the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka.

As this location is situated nearly 7.5km away from the Pambahinna junction, we were able to travel very comfortably by bus.We reached the entrance to the Surathali ella which is located in one side of the Badulla main road. After entering, we had to move along a footpath to reach the waterfall. Along the footpath, there was a small water path we have to cross in order to reach the waterfall. This waterpath was a very small one as the waterfall and it was an easy task to cross.

We were able to see the waterfall from far and it was a magnificent view even though it was a small place. We tried to reach near the waterfall to get a better view. We had to climb some rock in order to get closer to the waterfall.

The main difference of Surathali ella compared with other waterfalls is the iconic shape.Usually, waterfalls are vertical but due to the rock formation around Surathali ella falls, it takes a slanted or angle shape. We reached to the top of the waterfall, as we could observe the landscape around the waterfall.

we were able to get closer to the waterfalls as it falls down.As the water was flowing down continuously, the rocks were slippery and we took cautions not slip or fall down the waterfall. We stayed near the waterfalls for a longer time as it was a adventurous and magnificent experience.

Hi @kasun-chamikara,

https://steematlas.com/ is an amazing project initiated by @pennsif. It has a collection of Steemit posts, which are especially focused on specific places all around the world. It already has over 40,000 posts, and now you can add your posts to the world map as well. Currently, I work as an Atlas Ambassadors for Sri Lanka. I believe this post should be there.

✔ It looks like a wonderful place and I guess you had an amazing time. I still couldn't visit the place, but have heard many stories about its beauty.

You just copy and paste, the following code, at the end of your post, and the post will be automatically added to the correct location in steem atlas.

/[//]:# (!steematlas 6.7455336 lat 80.82892656 long Surathali Ella Waterfall d3scr)/

/code/ - remove the / & / at both sides and copy the middle part.

✔ Soon, I will share a complete guide describing the way to add posts there.

✔ You can read more details from here!

@damithudaya - thank you for suggesting Steem Atlas to @kasun-chamikara.

It is useful to include the name of the place (Surathali Ella Waterfall) in the Pin Description as well.
