Greetings!

“Believe you can and you’re halfway there ”
-Theodore Roosevelt

I couldn’t find the time to write an article as I was very busy last week. I was appointed as a Finance Executive at a private university and had to move there because commuting daily wasn’t an option.

It is not easy to adapt to a new environment. However, I am adapting to it now. That said, I won't write more about it.

Among the comments on my last post, There was a memorable one from @Senehasa. So, I decided to write about a woman. Thanks again for your kind words.

We all know her as the author of Harry Potter. Her real name is Joanne Rowling, but most people know her by her pen name, J.K. Rowling. A publishing company suggested using two initials rather than her full name because they feared that young male readers might not want to read a book written by a woman. That’s how Joanne Rowling became J.K. Rowling.

She was born on the 31st of July, 1965 in Yate, Gloucestershire, England, to a middle-class family. Her mother was with the Women’s Royal Naval Service, and her father was with the Royal Navy. Her parents met on a train while travelling from King’s Cross Station.

I think trains can be considered a very special part of her life. Because, the characters of Harry, Ron and Hermione also came into her mind while she was on a train from Manchester to London. That’s how world-famous three characters came into her imagination.

Remember? Her portal to the magical world is 9 ¾.

During the time she was writing the Harry Potter series, she faced many challenges and difficulties. The death of her mother, The birth of his first child, Domestic abuse, Divorce from her husband, Deep depression and relative poverty. Also when she submitted her manuscript of Harry Potter, they all rejected it.

The beginning of the world-famous story wasn’t a happy one. But eventually she succeeded. The Harry Potter series has sold over 600 million copies all over the world and has been translated into 84 languages.

While reading about her, I came across a memorable quote that the media often used at the time to portray Rowling.

“Penniless divorcee hitting the jackpot”

So, that’s it for today. Thanks for reading..

I’ll meet you with a new post soon.
