Art therapy is a kind of psychotherapy which uses as a way to help individuals express their emotions or as a way of relaxing. Art therapy can be used to people in any age and most importantly it is helpful for those who find it difficult tk express themselves by using words.
But what's in here is how art therapy can be applied in any person in daily life as a norm.
Drawing and painting is a form of art therapy which helps people to relax. While being busy with the daily chores if someone is being stressed out it can help individuals to reflect and release emotions. Also sculpture is a form of art therapy.
Personally, as a person without a good drawing skill, which I love the most is the colouring thing. It is a simple but effective form of art therapy. And also it is an easy way to start art therapy as no need to have any prior skill with art.
These kind of art works allow people to focus on the present moment which is called mindfulness and helping them reduce day-to-day stresses and anxiety. Not only that, it can be included in the process of emotional healing.
The goal of art therapy is not to create a perfect output, but to push individuals to explore their inner world. Just give it a try!
