Happiness Over Awkwardness

I was invited to a birthday party of a friend. We met in the school and she was my best friend since grade 7.

She was being a very supportive friend for me even if we are a bit apart from each other now. However she had sent me an invitation through Whatsapp inviting me to her birthday party.

I decided to go to the party as possibly we won't meet each other again or won't meet for a long time. I bought her some gifts the day before the party.

The party was there in Danke cafe near to the Wennappuwa town. My brother gave me trasportation to the place. The thing was I was one and half hour late to the party. Brother also joked at me asking "are u going to the lunch party at evening". Despite all the 'drag me downs' I headed to the location. It was my first time there and couldnt find the exact place where the party was helt at. I had to call them and two friends came to bring me there.

They had cut the cake. But she fed me a piece of cake to take a picture, right after I arrived in the party. I saw them all after a very long time. They were not very close buddies. But spent some time together talking about life changes and their future plans.

It was Italian type of cafe. We ate pizza and pasta as the birthday treat. But I did not eat well as I had lost appetite. I asked my brother to come and pick me up after about 2 hours. It was getting dark and I called him to come.

Others were dancing and I left the place around 6.30 pm as I was not very comfortable there. I was facing the changes of people who were used to be the closest. I think I faced the things pretty well and I am happy about my confidence and am happy that I could make it.

The location was pretty cool and had a lot of space. The open area was surrounded by trees. They had some painted areas to take pictures. It is an affordable and a nice place to hold a party.
