Even if we didn't know the word 'MUSIC', we had felt it after coming to this world, when the mother was humming songs to us in our babyhood. But if someone asked us 'what is music?' suddenly, we can't think of a definite answer. The way it feels to people is different from one to another, so from person to person the answer changes. Anyway, I think it's a complicated thing.

'Jeremy Montagu' has defined it as " Sound that Conveys emotion". I think it is true because some music productions have the ability to make us emotional. For me, besides making me emotional it makes a spiritual feeling, like so close to my life and soul. There are some facts hidden in the word 'Music', such as singing, instrumental music. We can guess, both language and music, have been made for the communication of the emotional states of human beings.

By the way, singing and making a speech are different from each other. When singing a song, there are some components we are considering, as pattern, rhythm, and pitch control. We can apply those to an emotional speech too. So if we asked someone 'Is this Music?', the answer is relatable.

Music didn't appear suddenly, it has had progress, step by step. Also, it's not a modern creation, it has been recognized from the time period of our ancestors. While observing towards the beginning of music, have done different researches. I admitted before that there are some components in singing. Then we should know whether our ancestors could sing, by observing fossils.

After observing the fossilized skulls and jaws of early apes they have concluded that our ancestors have had vocal anatomy rather similar to ours, so they had the ability to vocalize and pitch control almost like us. With time, they recognized the difference between music and speech, and it made the base for modern music. The other important component is rhythm. We can guess that clapping their hands was the beginning of recognizing rhythm. With the evolution, humans could produce instruments to output rhythmic sound. It developed until bone pipes and in the present, it has achieved big progress with the basis of ancestors.

Eventually, nowadays music has become modern with the development of various fields. With the evolution of human beings, music also evolved. Due to technological progress music empowered technologically and new instruments were invented and, there are talented and creative players, producers, and singers. The most important facts in the improvements of the music industry are creativity and advanced technology.
