I recently read a very controversial book suggested by a friend. It is "The Da Vinci Code" written by Dan Brown. I read the Sinhala translation by Kumara Siriwardhana. It has published in 2003 and the inside story flows with art, history, misteries, puzzles and religion. It is called as a thriller novel.
The plot follows Robert Langdon who is an expert in symbols and they work together to reveal hidden things related to a murder.
I was shocked reading some things related to Catholicism. It talks about the relationship between religion and history. It says some religious truths might have been hidden or modified with the time.
The content admits that there are hidden hints in old famous art works and religious symbols. The storyline is filled with secrets, discoveries and twists and keeps the reader engaged from the beginning to the end.
I heard that the some facts in the book related to religion and history is being criticized as it is offensive to some readers. At some point, I personally questioned myself for reading it.
Eventually, the book still ends with an unrevealed mystery ...
