With The Familiar Ones

Finally, she came to Sri Lanka. I was excited to see her, the one I mentioned in the previous post. At the same time, a bit weird as it was after 6 years, and as a person we are not the same anymore after 6 years. She came to a family wedding and had already planned a gathering for us during the stay.

When she left here in 2018, she was really sad. But this time she said that she doesn't like it here as it's boring cause she can't go wherever she wants to. I think now she is used to being there. She said that the first few days in Sri Lanka were hard for her as many things had changed while she was away for 6 years.

The place for the gathering was The Grand Holiday Resort Wennappuwa. They allow to have small functions there. I went there with one of my best buddies I met in grade 8. We were excited to see that friend who came from Japan. Even the other friends living in Sri Lanka could also meet after a very long time because everybody is busy doing their things and I know we won't meet together for many more years.

The friend who came from Japan had brought lots of gifts for each one of us. Also one of her Japanese friends had come to stay here with her for a couple of days. She is also in our age but exactly independent from her parents.

We had a fun time together laughing, eating, gossiping, and posing for photos. We collected so many memories together as it might be our last time with all those in one place at the same time. As we had not met for years everyone had so much to talk about. And all the people there were good singers. So we didn't forget to sing together and have some fun.

We had a lunchtime party as we are from different places in the country and had some issues with traveling.

After all, it was the end of a memorable and great day. Even if we might not meet for another 6 years, I know these friendships will remain as the best memories we had back in time.
