It Was Not Useless At All!

For easiness we cook dall in our boarding every day. Actually I dont like dall but for easiness and time saving we have to eat dall daily. This came to an end one day and I thought to break the habit. I decided to cook a polos curry by my own. My boy friend also really love to eat polos and that motivated me to do that.

First I went to the fair where we usually go for buying vegetables and other needy things. Then I bought polos and that uncle cut them into pieces before giving me. Then a coconut and I asked that uncle to cut it in to two pieces because I do not have a big knife in my boarding. Then I came and watched a you tube video even though I know how to cook. It was Just to remember the way. I took this picture after kept them on the table before cooking. Unfortunately I have only this picture cz I forgot to take after cooking.

Then I cooked polos and waited about 40 minitues till it boiled and cooked. My friend came to the boarding at that time asking "is there anything on the gas cooker and she has felt the smell of burning.( in sinhala it's Kara ganda and I googled it to find it's english name but could not).

I ignored it because I know it had enough coconut milk for my polos curry. After 5-10 minitues I went to see it and yeah! It had actually got burned. Foot of the cooking pot had got burned and the curry tasted weired. I was so sad but I learnt the lesson. When we cook the things in a clay pot with coconut milk it tend to get burn. We can prevent this from keeping karapincha at the foot of the cooking pot.

Anyway when akkala came they said it tasted good. I could not beleive that but when I eat on the next day that weird taste has gone from the curry. It tasted really good. My boy friend also said it's delicious!

So my effort was not useless at all! ❤️

We eat dhal for all the meals in the morning because I like it and my friend is bored to cook vegies only for her. We also received polos recently from our boarding owner, it was actually felt so good after eating dhal for weeks.

I got the correct spellings for "dhal" 😅.
Actually our Borading life is a dhal life.

When cooking you can't take eye off 🤭🤭🤭. Btw use maggie piti kala polkiri. A medium size enough for month.
