Hello steemians!!!

Today I am going to tell you about the sweet memory of visiting the Kannaliya Rainforest last year.

It was a Poya day so we went to the Nagoda Chooty amma's house. It was a holiday for everyone so we talked about going to Kanneliya. As soon as breakfast was ready,we left for Kanneliya. It took us less than two hours to travel from Nagoda to Kanneliya. We stopped at the parking lot and entered the Kanneliya forest area over a bridge. The streams that flowed on both sides of the bridge were the first places that caught my attention. From the moment we entered the Kanneliya rain forest we began to feel a strange coolness. We also obtained tickets and a guide from the ticket office and proceeded on foot.

We walked along the narrow path that stretched through the gigantic trees, reading the signboards naming the trees.Even the names of some of the trees we had never known before. The journey was a bit tiring so we stopped in the shade of trees and continued on exhausted. In the meantime our guide told us a lot about the Kanneliya Rainforest and the plant species.Along the way we even encountered animal species.

When we talk about animals, we can't forget the Ahetulla we met.The guide who was involved in our journey took the ahtulla in his hand and then gave us the opportunity to take it in our hands.

Let’s look at a few instances with Ahetulla.

We found a three storey hut made of natural twigs .We went to the top of it and stayed few time.

We then came across a tunnel on a slope. We walked hand in hand on the slopes .We also encountered a small bump in the tunnel. We also saw a crab and a prawn.

Then we rejoined the same route we had taken earlier.
The most important place on our trip was the "Anagi mala ella".It was a beautiful waterfall .We spent a lot of time near the waterfall .We took photos .We played in the water .We really had a lot of fun.We did not forget to ask our guide for the history of the waterfall. We learned a lot about the waterfall.

We left the waterfall .

We could see the "jungle grapes"on the way.The guide told us that there were clusters of red grapes but they were unfit for human consumption.

After taking a shower we set off to return home hoping to see the Kanneliya rainforest again.

@prasadi7282 Beautiful place to travel. I have heard there are many leaches in this forest... Is that true... I hate leaches...😬😬

On rainy days there may be leaches, but we did not find them.We only had time to see a small part, but there is another large area to see. There are 2 more waterfalls.we hope to visit full area in another day.

I read every word and viewed every photograph one by one and thoroughly enjoyed your nice post. I would like to know the total distance you walked in the rain forest..😂😊

We only got a little time to spend .We chose the package with the shortest distance. In fact, we walked about 8 kilometers.
