OOOHHHHH MAAAAANNNNNNNN!!!!!

This film cannot exist. It's too Perfect for this Earth. It cannot exist. It cannot be in the same reality as I am. It cannot. That's impossible.

If somebody asked me, even if we completely drop the parts that influenced the whole cult following thing, this film is a pure genius work, a marvel in low-budget filmmaking.

Starts after the events of the first movie, Evil Dead (1981). First I was surprised a little because the introduction for this movie had altered the events of the first one. At least the way I remembered, it was some friends and Ash Williams come to the cabin in the woods where they get haunted by the dead. Here it shows as Ash going to the woods with her girlfriend, who’s taken by the demons of the woods. Now they’re coming for Ash and he has to survive the woods he’s trapped in. Either way I took Ash’s character for the persona as the first one’s, and it worked really, really well.

First one is an acclaimed Horror film, but I didn’t find it so good as up to the expectations. But this second one which is made for a little higher cost, definitely makes it worthwhile.

Keeping part cheesy and comedic, this second film manages to approach levels on the other hand that I never imagined that a horror film could reach.
Bruce Campbell gives a spectacular performance on his end, while editing, camerawork and special effects made history, flying to the moon after breaking the fences of cinema. The film works both as a horror and a comedy, rich with both kind of elements. The story is never predictable so the jump scares work pretty well. Comedic timing is perfect, there are moments Sam Raimi actually makes us laugh together with the characters.

If not a ‘Masterpiece’, Evil Dead II is the crazy twin brother of that.

The Ending is absolute mastery, equally filled with feelings of horror, comedy and heroism.
This much high, you're not getting with any drug whatsoever.

I may sound way out of the limb here, I don't care.

“Hail!”
“No!”
“Hail!”
“No!”
“Hail!”
“No!”
“HAILLLLL!!!”

IMDb Rating - 7.8
Letterboxd - 4.0/5

Easily my favourite horror film.
One of the best things happened in the quarantine. Can't wait to watch the third one.
