Yes, the latest Netflix thing. True crime documentaries is a subgenre that apparently most people love watching. I generally dislike watching documentaries, well coz I do like fiction more than the real world, which is why I love movies in the first place. But we all heard of the phrase “Truth is stranger than fiction". Only time it matters to me in movies is when it comes to true crime docs. Which is why we decided to give a shot to 'Don't F#ck with Cats', a true crime docu released in 2019. And we loved it, so it somewhat opened a door for us, which brought to lover, stalker, killer (2024).

However, I did not find this as it was intriguing for 'Don't f#ck with Cats'. The story, okay, maybe thats not the right term, mm, its about a love triangle turning dark. A mechanic tries a dating site to match with a new woman after he divorces with his wife, and he dates the new partner for some time and then the things gets to way that he never imagined. You know, to avoid spoiling, I will leave it at that. Involves a lot of text messaging and stalking tho.

However, this was alright, we see how the detectives when after the stalker who's possibly responsible for a murder. We see parts of trial, and verdicts, all that. But not very detailed as DFWC. Maybe its not nice to compare, but I'm sorry, can't help it. I know DFWC took three episodes to show the thing, thats almost two times of this one's runtime. But still, I cannot stop feeling of the inadequacy of the detailing. OK, maybe there was nothing much to show, as my waifu says, but the after all, this rating is ok, no? Most of the visuals were an attempt to recreate the events that how they imagined as happened. Very less amount of real life footage there, unlike DFWC, so it kinda didn't grab it tough as I would've wanted.

Yea thats it. I don't know how to review documentaries, i just wrote my honest thoughts. Which pretty much is what a review is anyways, IMO.
