A Delicious Meal Under a Great Atmosphere | Aluroma Family Restaurant, Galle

There are hundreds of star range hotels and elegant restaurants in the Galle town. But when we need to go, it is so confusing to select where should we go. Same here. We planned to visit somewhere else but suddenly had to change the plans so that we went to the first restaurant suggested by google.

It is Aluroma Family Restaurant

Location

The restaurant is located near Galle - Mathara road, in front of Marine walk. There is a bus stop in front of the restaurant which you can ask the bus conductor as "NIBM Halt" if you are coming from the direction of Matara. 10min walking distance from Galle Bus stop.

The parking slot is very small. As it was Sunday, we parked in front of the bank because the bank was closed.

Interior

The restaurant in the second floor of the block. You have to enter from the door and you'll see the receptionist on the left-hand side. He will guide you to go to the upper floor.

There is space to sit about 50 people at once. Each table is arranged with 4 chairs. We selected a table at the seaside. The interior design is pretty good. They have drawn some doodles on the walls and some other wall hangings were there. You can find a washroom there but no bad impact on the dining area. The kitchen is also there in this floor.

Menu and Price

Unfortunately, I haven't any photographs of the menu but you can simply find some information from google photos.

Soup, Fried Rice, Shwarma, Pizza, Pasta, Crunchies, Kottu, Soft Drinks, and Desserts are available here. There is a wide range of meals you can pick.

On average, the price varies between 500 LKR to 1500 LKR excluding beverages and deserts. There are two categories for some portions like rice, "Normal" and "Special". The normal portion is a single plate, but pretty enough for two people.

We Had Just one Bad Experience

Waiters are so supportive, but they delivered us the wrong plates. We ordered Chicken and Cheese Fried Rice and Mushroom and Chicken Fried Rice. But due to miscommunication, they gave us Chicken Fried Rice and a Nasi goreng!!! Nasi goreng was the meal below to Mushroom and Chicken Fried Rice.

We didn't want to make him uncomfortable and these wrong meals saved 310 LKR from our "Shared traveling fund".

The food was warm and also very delicious. I recommend Nasi goreng which is very delicious comparing to others I have tasted.

We ordered Sprite, Lime Juice and two Chicken and Cheese Fried Rice to take home. Chicken and Cheese Fried Rice is not recommended :).

For all, it took 3620 LKR (beverage, dine-in, take away).

Let's Look at Food

Please don't purchase Lime juice. It is too acidic. Instead of this try lime/passion fruit mojito.

You'll receive tomato sauce, chili paste, and mango chutney with Chicken fried rice. This potion is good. Don't hesitate to buy.

Nasi goreng is highly recommended. Comming with a grilled chicken stick and Papadam in addition to Bulls Eye Egg.

Overall experience is very good even though we received the wrong meal. All happens for good!

The place was a little crowded around 1.30 p.m-2.30 p.m. Very good place to hang out with your loved ones while enjoying a delicious meal.
