My beloved friend Roshani's wedding took place at the end of last week, and before writing about it, I thought of sharing something related. Harith and I had the opportunity to support her during her wedding day photoshoot. The shoot happened at Ginganga Lodge, a well-known villa famous for its landscaping and antiques. We had never been there before, but it had been on our bucket list for some time.
While assisting Roshani with her needs, we took the chance to explore the place.
The lodge consists of multiple villas, each built separately to ensure privacy. Every villa is located at a considerable distance from the others and is surrounded by its own garden area, filled with greenery and antique elements.
The wooden doors at the villa entrances made a perfect photo backdrop for the shoot, especially with the traditional wedding attire.
Their restaurant is highly popular among photographers due to its rustic charm and antique decor. There were a few guests enjoying breakfast at the restaurant.
Photographers captured some stunning shots at the entrance, where the sunlight streamed beautifully. At that moment, my responsibility was to hold the flower bouquet, so my photographs turned out like this:
Every inch of the restaurant area was decorated with well-matched masterpieces, all meticulously maintained and dust-free.
The pool was located right in front of the restaurant, with a spacious seating area on the left side. The seating arrangement was incredibly beautiful, so Harith and I sat there for a while, chatting and scrolling through our phones. I loved the color combination they used to set up the seating area.
The pool was surrounded by kaduru trees, creating a natural wetland atmosphere. We could hear the calls of peacocks, and it was likely that they visited the area frequently.
Our newlywed couple was completely occupied with photographers and videographers, so we had plenty of time to wander around and enjoy the beauty of the place. I’m certain they captured many breathtaking photos.
Thanks to Roshani and Kalana, we had a peaceful morning at this beautiful location. I wish we had tried some food too, but we thought it might not have been appropriate at the time.
For anyone looking for a relaxing vacation hideaway near Galle, this place is perfect—even for photoshoots!
Wishing our lovely couple a wonderful future together!
