Supporting a Pregnant Mother To Renovate Her Room for New Baby | Sl-Charity

Days are getting difficult more and more than ever. Personally, I am expecting a worse time in the economy again in the middle of this year. The majority of people are struggling to acquire their minimum needs and how do they really make dreams of a comfortable life?

A few days back, we got a request from an innocent father, who wanted to give a better life to his child who is about to see the world. Their child is due at the end of March but the situation of their living place is not that prepared for a baby. They were using an unfinished room that hasn't been plastered yet which doesn't healthy for a baby. Even the roof had issues and it easily attract moisture inside during rainy days.

They barely have money to do something other than to cover their basic needs. Preparing for a delivery isn't easy nowadays. With sl-charity, we have supported pregnant mothers during some other situations as well. We have supported them to buy necessary items before delivery and also we have supported mothers with food during their time pregnancy. So we decided to open our hands towards them to support renovations of the room that they are willing to keep the new baby.

As Harith has experience in construction, he worked on a rough estimation of the cost they need to cement plastering and poti plastering. As we are also not able to cover both costs, we promised them to cover the cost of potty plastering. It cpAlso, we made some suggestions to cover the wires that are very unsafe for a little baby.

Our estimated cost came 23 000 LKR and we sent 26 500 LKR for them for this work. I must thank everyone for supporting sl-charity even with a small vote.
