The Best Thing I did with My STEEM? | Steem Sri Lanka 3G Contest Series | 5% to SL-Charity

Steemit and gave me a lot of happiness and lots of steem. But I have used very few of steem in my real life. Once I purchased an oven for my sister-in-law by spending 22 SBD and that is the only good I have purchased with my steem so far.

But more than that, there is something better I have done with my steem. 😊

It is my Steem Power!

#spud4steem encouraged me to increase my steem power. My steemit success story started in June 2020 even though my account is old.

During the past 10 months, I could raise 20 800 SP in my account. Among them around 6 600 SP are newly purchased and rest of steem power raised by curation rewards, author rewards and powering up steem coming from SBD rewards.

Why I am So Happy About This?

  1. Do you know how much STEEM worth in LKR?
If the steem price is 0.67$ and 1 LKR = 194.55 $ it will produce 2 711 248.8 LKR for 20 800STEEM. I have never thought to click power down button for my steem power. If I had this amount in my hand I could finish the house that we are building or I could purchase land or property. If steem is 1.20$ ?🤗 never mind I will hold it.

  2. Why my Steem Power is a lot to me?
I have delegated my steem power to last digit for two initiatives. #spud4steem and @steem-sri.lanka

I delegate to #spud4steem prize with my pleasure and one day when I finish building @steem-sri.lanka I will add more to #spud4steem.

I delegate all my SP day by day to @steem-sri.lanka. There was a huge price up where most of my collaterals started powering down. Some were for selling and some were with better future preparations. It demotivated me for a while, what should I do with my SP. I had two options, remove my delegation from @steem-sri.lanka and power down or hold it. It was clear all financial benefits were there for my side. But if I did a single move of my SP from @steem-sri.lanka it would reverse all our members' effort of the past 6 months. And on other hand, I had no interest to step back from my target of being an orca one day.

Building a community account isn't easy. When the community is not rich enough to purchase large amounts of steem power it is more difficult. Believe the first set of steem I purchased for #spud4steem, 2220 STEEM. I lived by my parent's money and the salary total of both of them is lower than 2220 STEEM. 😔 My boyfriend funds me to purchase steem because I wanted to win #spud4steem. I never pressure my friends to delegate @steem-sri.lanka but they also do the same as me and that's why I love them.

All the sacrifices of members ended up with the following results before other mature, older, crowded and rich country-based community curator accounts. This is the best thing I ever did with my STEEM.

I am happy 104 accounts are benefited from my steem power with more rewards than this SP in my account.

I am happy @steem-sri.lanka hit 100K with very limited resources we have. I am happy because I have contributed 19% of this amount.

I am happy for not being selfish.

I am happy because I will purchase again..

To me, it is impossible to be a Whale. But if I try I can be an Orca one day! 30K more to go!

effectidelly, if we power down our SP we can do a lot of things but after what? Better trust in #steem and continue growing up, later we will can do these lot of things and more supporting other people! Continue with all you good work, you will get all what you deserve ;)

I also try to delegate SP to #spud4steem and @steem-sri.lanka in future. It's will be my next step in steemit.

Thank you for your participation.

You did the right thing and the best, honestly we have the wrong intentions, which is why we think more about short-term benefits than about long-term investments.

You are exemplary, everyone should follow it.
