Things Are Getting Christmassy | 10% to SL-Charity

Surprisingly I was a part of the Christmas Party organization committee of our organization. My responsibility was to decorate the office to get the Christmassy feeling. I had no sense of what to do at the beginning, but later when I see the ornaments and materials for the work, I found it an attractive challenge.

First thing first, I gathered some young girls and boys from the office to join me for decorations. We had so much stuff that they used in last year's Christmas. We unwrap them and check what we have before starting our decorations.

Christmas decorations were pretty new to me because I am not a Catholic and we don't usually do Christmas decors in our houses. First I went through the experience of our Catholic team members regarding color combinations, traditions, and what to make.

We came to a conclusion, that we do the tree, door decors, table decors, Christmas Wreath, and some wall decors.

We found a one readymade wreath inside the store room and some leaves and cherries suitable for a second wreath. Tharmila and me made a wreath using them and tied two ribbons on top and bottom. Also, there were some red bells and we tied one of them to the bottom.

The next work was the tree. Prashan assembled the tree first and it was a tall tree which is taller than all of us.

We had so many ornaments like balls, bells, small Christmas tree shape things, stars and snowflakes. We hang them accordingly and placed a bulb wire around the tree.

In the end, we placed a silver big star on top of the tree symbolizing we have finished the works of the Christmas tree.

We had small Christmas trees that looks snow on top. And also green garlands with snow looking finish. We used them to decorate tables as you see in the first photo. For the door decorations, we used the same garlands with some bells.

And did a similar one for walls as well. Actually, we were able to manage all the above decoration within 3-4 hours. All office members were helped in different ways.

Finally, the office started to look more Christmasy and colorful.

Honestly, this is my first Christmas tree decoration experience even though I am 25 years old now. I really loved this feeling of Christmas and the togetherness of all religions to celebrate this awesome day.
