These days, it's very hot in Sri Lanka. No matter how much we use the fan or wash our bodies, it's hard to bear the heat. So, the best thing to do is to drink more water and salty drinks. I want to share with you my experience of preparing drinks every day.
One of the best drinks for a hot day is a cucumber drink. Cucumbers are full of water, low in calories, and have no fat. They help keep the body hydrated. Making this drink is easy. Peel the cucumber, extract the juice, and blend it with a little sugar, lime, and water.
Sago is another refreshing drink. Wash the sago and drain the water. Boil two cups of water and add the sago. When they're cooked, the white colour will disappear. Add coconut milk, salt, and cardamom. When it's hot, add ground jaggery. If you like, add chopped cashews and dry ice. After a few minutes, turn off the stove. Drink it hot to beat the heat, or refrigerate it for a cold drink.
These homemade drinks are healthier than soft drinks, which we buy from the market. But I recommend trying the cucumber . Because drinking sago porridge is not very suitable in conditions like cold.
