STUCK IN A TRAFFIC JAM | 5% to SL-Charity

As usual, I went to the office at 7.15 am on 05th April 2021. After the morning safety meeting, workers were distributed according to the work schedules. Then I left the site at 8.30 am to go to Dematagoda for official necessity. There was only 5km from my location to Dematagoda. So I expected to go there within 10 minutes. I went to Rajagiriya & choose Cotta road to go to Borella. When I passed Ayurvedha Junction, there was moderating traffic.

I was able to go to Borella within 15 minutes. It means I am getting late more than half time, which my assumed time. Then I headed to Dematagoda through Baseline road. I had to face an unexpected traffic jam there. Every inch of the road filled with vehicles.

It was really difficult to drive under this kind of condition. Three-wheelers were everywhere on road. Three-wheeler drivers were driving their vehicles without taking care of other vehicles. Sometimes my vehicle was surrounded by Three-wheelers.

I saw traffic police officers trying to do their best to reduce this traffic jam. At some locations, I had to stop my vehicle for more than 15 minutes. The fuel consumption indicator of the vehicle shows that there were only 4.5-kilometers per petrol liters. In here almost more than 1000 vehicles on the road. Such a big fuel wastage. As I know, fuel is a limited resource. So wasting it for no reason is a huge mistake from us to the future world. By thinking about these kinds of things I drive the car up to Dematagoda Flyover.

Then I took my vehicle into the right lane from the middle lane. One of a kind jeep driver gave me a chance to line splitting. Then I turn in to Awissawella road from Dematagoda junction.

I went about 1km on that road and reach my destination after successfully wasting one & a half hours of my valuable time by traveling only 5 kilometers.
