My last evening in 2022... ❤️

Hope everyone is now so excited and waiting to welcome the new year - 2023 with hearts filled with happiness and peace.

However, before ending the year 2022, I wanted to visit our monastry, ශ්‍රී ධර්මපාල ආරන්‍ය සේනාසනය. Out of all the temples located in our area, this is the place that heal my soul and bring peace to my mind. Since my childhood, I have always loved visiting there.

So, today evening, I visited there with my father, at around 3 p.m. It was about 3.40 p.m. when we reached there. There was a meeting as well for the villagers. Actually, it was not just a meeting, it was more like a price giving ceremony organized for the villagers who paid their hard work and full commitment towards the previous Katina Pinkama held in our monastery.

Our monks had well organized gifts for all the villagers. There were a number of gift items according to each villagers tastes and needs. And also the gifts had been properly named. There were Knives, hoes, sickles, saws, and more.

By the time we arrived, the monastery had already been filled with the villagers who came to meet our chief monk, to get blessings, to worship before the start of the new year, and of course to attend the price giving ceremony. The ceremony was supposed to start at around 4 p.m. However, I was also able to meet our chief monk before the commencement of the ceremony.

After that, I went to my favorite part: for worshiping. As my farther was also one of the main organizers of the ceremony, he stopped with the others for attending it. Then I walked to the viharaya alone.

It was my first time being there alone as I always used to go there with my family. And also, it was the first time I saw our viharaya was not crowded.

However, I must say it was the best day ever, among all the days I had been there. Since the ceremony was started, everyone was at the ceremony except me. The surrounding was so calm and silent without any noices made by humans. It was such a nice, quiet time.

The smooth sound of the wind came through the forest and along with the beautiful songs sung by little birds. It felt like a mind blowing music played by the forest. Anyway, the loud screams of the monkies who were hanging by tall trees in the forest disturbed the calm music. Even though, I liked them all.

I enjoyed the view, the peacefulness, and finally I worshiped as much as I wanted. I wished for all the good things in the upcoming new year for myself and for all of my loved ones. I wished them for good health, happiness, and success.

Finally, I was able to spend my last evening in 2022 exactly the same way I wanted.

So my friends, just keep remembering: the new year is not coming alone, it is coming with 365 new opportunities for us to achieve all of our goals, hopes, and wishes. Let's focus for our goals more than we did in last year, and I'm sure that 2023 will be the best year to push away all the difficulties we faced throughout the last few years.
