The day before yesterday, i talked about the Miracle at the Gabba. I got a bit carried out, so I was unable to cover the other match on that day. So here I am to express myself about it. Actually, that day was a crazy one. not only these two matches, there was the Australia Open Men's final too. That was epic. I'll share my thoughts about it on the next day.

Coming back to the topic, the England Cricket Team came to India for a 5-test match series. Earlier, there was a heat building up about an issue about the visa of Shoaib Basir, a Pakistan-born English cricketer. Also, Brendon Mccullum's Bazballing method was also humilated, saying that it won't be possible to execute those plans in India. With all these things, the 1st test match started.

England won the toss and chose to bat first. Even though the openers were able to make a good start, the other top-order batters were unable to contribute. Later, captain Ben Stokes joined with a few tail enders to drag England to a decent 1st inning score of 246. Stokes scored 70 there.

The 1st inning of India started with a flight showing a real Bazball masterclass by Ysasvi Jaiswal. It's like everybody contributed to the score. Jaiswal, KL Rahul, and Jadeja scored 80s. English bowlers were trashed in most parts of the inning. Only Joe Root was successful with 4 wickets. India ended the inning at 436 with a lead of 190 runs, giving India a huge favor of winning.

At this moment, India thought they'd already won the match. But England didn't give up that easily. In the second inning, at one stage, England were 163/5. Ollie Pope, the new one-down batsman for England stuck with the lower-order players, helping them to secure their wicket and score runs, and pushed England to a respectable level in the game. Unfortunately, under the pressure of losing wickets, Ollie Pope fell short of 4 runs for double century after pushing England to a score of 420.

With that, India had a target of 231 to win the 1st test match. I think India took it lightly. They went hard at the ball from the beginning, but the thing is India kept losing wickets, just as they thought they would. The ball was turning sharply. I was unable to tell. Jack Leach was injured during the match. So, debutant spinner Tom Hartley, inexperienced Rehan Ahmed and part-time spinner Joe Root had the benefit of the pitch.

There was one crucial moment on that game. Jadeja's run-out. You know how active Ben Stokes is in the field. It was just a Stokes thing. He threw the ball at the wicket with an unusual hand, diving forward. The direct hit sent Jadeja to the pavillion, and Tom Hartley took care of the rest of it.

There was still a chance for India to win. Even the tail-enders were aggressive, not thinking that there weren't many wickets remaining and not many runs to win either. With the help of a spinning ball, England managed to all-out India for 202, getting a 28-run win over India. Tôm Hartley took 7 wickets to win the match.

But without the stellar inning of Ollie Pope, there could not have been a score to chase for India. That's why he was named the man of the match. In two days, the next test match starts. Let's see how it goes..
