Tech Blog #175 | Redmi Pad Pro - Bigger Display...

in hive-133716 •  7 months ago
Why do we need a tab? It is mainly because of the requirement of a larger portable display with the function of a smartphone and stylus functionality. But a bigger display means less structural integrity. And the budget also comes as a constraint. We all know Xiaomi tries to find the balance of value-for-money thing. And this time, they came up with Redmi Pad Pro.

The Redmi Pad Pro features a sleek and modern design with a metal body and also comes with a classic pattern that reflects the magical theme of the Harry Potter edition. The tablet is crafted using a double anodizing process and features micron-level 3D laser engraving, giving it a lifelike magic texture. It has a thickness of 7.5mm and weighs 571g, making it relatively slim and lightweight for a tablet of its size. The Pad Pro also includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for convenient and secure unlocking.

The Redmi Pad Pro boasts a stunning 12.1-inch IPS LCD display with 2.5K resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, providing a vibrant and fluid viewing experience. The display supports Dolby Vision and achieves a peak brightness of 600 nits, ensuring clarity even in bright environments. With a 16:10 aspect ratio, the screen is great for both productivity and entertainment purposes. Additionally, the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for added durability.

The Redmi Pad Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, featuring an octa-core CPU configuration with four high-performance cores and four efficient cores. This chipset is coupled with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and offers storage options of 128GB or 256GB, utilizing the fast UFS 2.2 technology. The combination of this chipset and memory configuration provides a smooth and responsive user experience, ideal for multitasking and demanding applications.

Camera setup is not the main selling point of tablets. A decent camera system is enough. The Redmi Pad Pro is equipped with a single 8 MP main camera, which offers basic photography capabilities such as LED flash and 1080p video recording at 30fps. On the front, there is also an 8 MP selfie camera, ensuring decent quality for video calls and selfies. While not the most advanced setup, these cameras are suitable for everyday use and should meet the needs of most tablet users.

The Redmi Pad Pro is powered by a large 10,000 mAh battery, which should provide excellent battery life for extended use. The tablet supports 33W fast charging, allowing you to quickly recharge the battery when needed. With such a sizable battery capacity, users can expect long hours of usage on a single charge, making it suitable for both work and entertainment purposes.

The Redmi Pad Pro Harry Potter Edition is a special variant of the tablet designed in collaboration with the Harry Potter franchise. It features a unique design inspired by the magical world of Harry Potter, including a customized metal body with classic patterns. The tablet comes with exclusive Harry Potter-themed accessories, such as a stylus, a leather cover, and other merchandise. This edition is aimed at fans of the Harry Potter series who want to experience a touch of magic in their daily tech devices.

The Redmi Pad Pro offers a compelling package with its large 12.1-inch 120Hz display, Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, and 10,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The tablet's quad speakers, Dolby Atmos support, and 3.5mm headphone jack enhance the multimedia experience. With its competitive pricing starting at CNY 1,499 ($207) and the exclusive Harry Potter edition adding a touch of magic, the Redmi Pad Pro is a strong contender in the tablet market, offering a blend of performance and entertainment features.
