Good day, my dear friends! Today is our Vesak Day, and we are preparing to commemorate our beloved Buddha's birth, enlightenment, and death. Everyone, I'm sure, is looking forward to decorating with bulbs to celebrate this event. As you are all aware, electricity is one of the major issues in our country, Sri Lanka, due to a lack of fuel. How much electricity would be wasted if we all went to use electricity to beautify of our homes? Tomorrow we will have to stay in a dark. So, please use your brain. We are going to stay in a dark or save electricity without decorating our house with bulbs. If we all agree not to do this, it will be highly beneficial to us. Tomorrow, we can save electricity.
I'm sure our kids are excited to turn on the lights and remain in for the evening. However, you inform them of the country's position and compel them to find another way to commemorate this day. Instead of using a light bulb, we can hang a Buddhist flag in our home, light coconut oil lamps, and use candles to light buckets and lanterns.
We also planned to do this, but after discussing it with all our family members, we decided against using bulbs to decorate our home. If you all keep to this value concept, I believe we will conserve a lot of energy for tomorrow. We've already made lanterns and have buckets ready to decorate, but this year we’re not using electricity.
We can also organize small arms giving, such as delivering pencils, pens, and exercise books to children. That will not take a long time to organize this type of small arms giving. Gather your neighbors and friends right immediately and start planning.
If you think it's a good idea, please share this message with your friends and relatives so that we can preserve energy for tomorrow.
It's a timely idea. 👏
