Blocktrades' site was saying the same thing ... "coin under maintenance" -- but that CAN'T be true everywhere because too much Steem is moving.
This gets more confusing daily... but I refuse to give up on a year's work here...

If you moved to hives it would not be giving up a years work, it would be simply transferring where you post from. Many of the same people are still on both chains and will eventually be choosing one.

Thanks, @metzli ... my concern was that certain people now in possession of things here were holding the coin out of trading, and over 13 weeks, given that a ton of people are going to power down and get out, I reckon that my Steem will be worth a lot less in 13 weeks. Turned out it was just certain exchanges, and Blocktrades opened up the Steem/Hive trading option today -- so, the way is open.
