So today was Sunday which is usually considered a fun day for most people, a time to relax, hang out with friends or just unwind from the week.
But for me Sunday has a completely different meaning. It is not a day of rest it is the house cleaning day. While cleaning happens regularly but Sunday is when my mom takes things to another level.
This is the day when she shows us all how the house should be cleaned properly. Every hidden corner...
I remember seeing a meme once that said If moms had their way they would tear down the house and build a new one on Sundays. At that moment I thought This meme is exactly about my mom.
It captures my mummy perfectly. No matter how clean the house might already be Sundays are the day when everything must be spotless and no one gets a pass on helping.
This morning, I did not even wake up naturally but I was woken up. My sister came into room determined to get me out of bed. Get up... We have to clean the house.
I mean seriously waking someone up just to clean? It feels so unfair But I had no choice so I reluctantly got up. We all had breakfast together a brief moment of calm and then it began the Sunday cleaning frenzy.
As usual mom was leading the charge giving instructions left and right. It felt like we were prepping the house for some royal inspection, but it was just another Sunday at our place.
I seriously feel like there's a whole different level of chaos in our house on Sundays because, besides the usual cleaning, mom also starts deep cleaning, and we have to help her too, obviously—we can’t just leave her to do it all alone, right?

Finally after hours of cleaning and a lot of energy spent the house was sparkling clean and we sat down for lunch. It was delicious and it felt like a reward for all the hard work we had just done.
After lunch I decided to study for a bit to get some peace and quiet. I managed to study for a while then I drifted back to my usual routine.
Well no matter how Sunday goes the fear of Monday is always greater. Just the thought of it brings anxiety knowing that tomorrow is Monday and I have to go to university.
