Support is a word, a thing, that everyone needs—family support, friends’ support, partner’s support. A person needs support at every level, which is why having a strong support system is very important. Before marriage, strong family support makes a person strong, gives them confidence. Then, there are some situations where you need the support of your friends. I consider myself very lucky to have a very supportive family and friends. Whenever I’ve needed it, and even when I didn’t, my family and friends have always supported me.
In my family, my strongest shield is my mother. My father is also very supportive, but my mother stands by me in every small and big matter. She always takes a stand for me. However, she’s a bit fearful, so she stops me from going places, and at that time, I need my father’s support. What I mean is that family support is necessary in every situation. I love my parents deeply, and surely everyone does. At first, I didn’t realize the importance of family, but now I understand that parents are a crucial part of your life, and without them, you are incomplete. Surely, after they’re gone, you get busy with worldly matters, but a feeling remains in your heart all your life—that if only our parents were still alive.
One of my teachers once said that either you judge your parents, or you love them; you can’t do both. It’s not necessary that parents are right in every matter, but just thinking that they are your parents, you should listen to them. No matter how they are, they love their children unconditionally. You need your friends' support in situations where you can’t involve your parents, but friends should be such that they can support you. I thank Allah for blessing me with such amazing friends who have supported me at every step. It’s my family and friends' support that pushed me through my tough times. I pray that Allah keeps everyone’s parents happy and alive, and blesses them with great friends.
In the end, I just want to say that if you have your parents, then value them. Believe me, no one else in the world truly belongs to you except your parents. Everyone else is selfish except for parents. And if you have sincere friends, value them too.
