One of my all-time favorites is "A Scanner Darkly". I love the animation and filter they used, and it's a very cerebral movie that keeps you engaged. It almost feels like you’re sketching with the characters. Not to mention, there are some big actors in this film, including Keanu Reeves and Robert Downey Jr. The story is quite unconventional—there’s no action, just a lot of thought-provoking content that adds to the film's "sketchy" vibe. Here’s a brief description of the movie:
A Scanner Darkly is set in a near-future dystopia where an undercover cop, played by Keanu Reeves, is tasked with infiltrating a group of drug users. The catch is that he himself is using a substance that makes him lose his sense of self. The film skillfully navigates the tension between personal freedom and societal control, presenting a hauntingly realistic portrayal of addiction and identity loss.
