Hello, Steemians of Steem Nations. The community is growing and regularly arranges contests, which I like most from this. Today, I am going to talk about my favorite movie.
What kind of movies do I like to watch and which is my favorite movie/series among them all? |
---|
I am not a movie or web series lover. Still, I try watching movies or web series in my free time. My favorite web series is Dirilis: Artugrul. I also like Big Bang Theory and Breaking Bad. Usually, I want to watch historical and scientific series. GOT was a series I watched out of interest. However, I found it related to history. I am a big fan of Animation movies. Shah Rukh Khan has always been my favorite movie star. I watched almost all of his movies. In this contest, I will write about one of his best movies, Swades - We, The People.

Brief Story
Mohan Barghav, an NRI lives in the USA and works for NASA. He got his citizenship recently. Mohan came back to India for Kaveri Amma, an honorable person to him as she took care of him after his parent's uncertain death. He finds that Kaveri Amma is living with his childhood friend Geeta in a village named Caranpur. It’s a rural village where the roads are not suitable and people have so many problems. He had to stay here to fulfill Kaveri Amma's last wishes for Geeta's marriage.
Mohan contributed some works like encouraging people to be educated, especially girls, who don’t get the chance. Racism was a big problem there. However, he planned more to do. The village was near a hill, there was a fall. He built a Hydroelectric power generator on his own. He had to leave India and undone his cause to come back. He fell in love with Geeta, too.
After his mission success in NASA, he decided to come back to India permanently and do something for his own country.
What messages do I adopt from my favorite movies/series and what would I not like to follow?
This movie is about true patriotism. A dialogue from Mela Ram touched me so much.
Apni chaukhat ka diya ... giving light to neighbor's house.
Translation
The lamp on my doorstep ... is giving light to my neighbor's house.
This is true indeed. Many things made this movie my all-time favorite. Geeta is an educated girl who spends her life in a village where electricity is a bigger problem. She just lives there to educate villagers, so that they can prosper in their life. Dadaji and Nivaaran, are two educated and well-mannered people, who find themselves alone in a place full of caste. All of them started as a team and had a lot of success like reducing racism and preparing parents to send their children to school. Especially teenage girls, who didn’t have the opportunity to do so. Mohan’s visits to Kodi village are the true story of our sub-continent. Our farmers are dying for landlord’s and powerful person’s wrongdoing. Poverty never leaves them alone.
To empower ourselves, our educated people need to step up and do something for themselves. We need to focus on education and provide grunted education for all. No gender or other discrimination. We have to make sure that everyone gets the opportunity they need to live well.
There were so many things to write about that movie. But, I think I already made my point. I would like to invite @shaplaa, @nadia252, and @rizwankabir to participate. See you in the next episode. Until then, stay well and stay blessed.
