For years, stories about the house have spread like whispers in the village market. It is said that the house has an invisible guard who always protects the treasures inside. Anyone who tries to enter without permission will experience strange things.
That night, with a lantern in hand, Jaka approached the house. The door of the house, which was said to never be able to be opened, this time opened easily. Inside, the atmosphere felt cold even though there was no wind
Without hesitation, Jaka approached the chest. But before he touched it, a voice echoed.
"Do you know the owner?"
Jaka was stunned. The voice did not come from one direction, but filled the room like an endless echo.
"I don't care who the owner is!" Jaka answered in a challenging tone. He opened the chest with force. Inside, he found a pile of gold coins shining brightly. His eyes rounded, and he began to take the coins.
However, when his hand touched the first coin, something cold and rough wrapped around his wrist. When he turned his head, he saw a black hand that had no body. "The owner will know," the voice whispered.
Jaka screamed, but he couldn't get away. Other black hands emerged from the walls, floor, and ceiling, pulling him into the chest. The lantern he was carrying fell and went out.
The next day, the villagers found the door to the Owner's House tightly closed again, as before. There was no trace of Jaka anywhere. But from that night on, anyone who walked near the house could hear a faint voice say, “Do you know who owns it?”
And the villagers became more convinced that the treasure inside the house was not for them. The house, and everything in it, would remain the property of its true owner—whoever or whatever that might be.
