The amount of winter we have here is much reduced. The arrival of Falgun means the arrival of spring. There is a hint of heat around. I was walking around outside the house in the afternoon. Then suddenly the eyes went towards a mango tree. Many buds are coming from that mango tree. With the arrival of monsoon spring, golden mango buds are adorning the trees. Mango buds are hanging on almost all the big and small trees in different areas. The sky and the wind are filled with the smell of buds, the farmers are weaving dreams. Everywhere in the yard or in the mango garden, mango buds are hanging on the trees. I have shared a picture of the golden colored mango bud below.
Buds should be sprayed with water in the morning and a mild insecticide should also be applied. If there is too much fog, the mango buds get burnt. Ants may appear on plants after hatching. It damages the mango pulp. However, since the fog is less in this region, the yield of mangoes can be good and high.
Mango farmers say that the number of mango orchards in our district is very less as compared to other districts. But every house in our area has a mango tree. Every branch of the tree is bowed to the golden buds of the mango. We are also very happy that the tree has more buds this time. This time there are many buds on the trees. Now the yield will depend on the weather. A bumper crop of mangoes is expected this year if the weather is favourable.
