The last day of our summer vacation was going to be very busy. A group of five people gathered, just as many as could fit in the car. My sister and her husband suggested that we go to the small town of Sosnovy Bor and look at a few more places along the way. In the morning, I had no idea how intense this trip would be.
HELP FROM THE NETWORK: Fort Krasnaya Gorka is a powerful coastal defensive structure built at the very beginning of the 20th century near the Kronstadt Fortress. His vocation was to strengthen the position of the Russian navy in the Gulf of Finland and protect the Northern Capital from attack by enemy ships.
The weather favored us. It was a sunny day and the sky was completely cloudless. We have already passed Peterhof and Oranienbaum, passed the turnoff to Kronstadt and after a while turned towards the Gulf of Finland. Lena immediately warned me that it would be very interesting there.
A dirt road led into the depths of the pine forest. We stopped in the parking lot and continued on foot. Soon, some buildings appeared and the nurse said that it was a large former military complex with a museum and a large observation deck with ancient relics of past times.
It became clear that a large coastal fort had once been located in this place. Here and there we saw half-abandoned machinery, guns and concrete fortifications that stretched into the depths of the forest. I always like places like this and I immediately started taking pictures.
Unfortunately, the museum was closed that day. It even seemed to me that it was completely closed for restoration, because there were a lot of scaffolding around. However, until recently everything was working here, there were various exhibits everywhere, information stands hung. Most of the antique guns were dismantled.

After exploring the first part of the fort, we moved on. Once upon a time, military life was in full swing here, in former times there were several branches of the railway. Now this place is just a monument that tells tourists about past times and historical events of the early 20th century.
Tomorrow we will continue to inspect the fort and I will show you a huge cannon mounted on rails. There will also be many more photos from this amazing place. Our day was just beginning, but there were a lot of interesting things waiting for us. And that's all for today!
Последний день нашего летнего отпуска обещал быть очень насыщенным. Нас собралась компания пять человек, как раз, сколько помещалось в машину. Моя сестра и её муж предложили поехать в сторону небольшого городка Сосновый Бор и по дороге заглянуть ещё в несколько мест. Утром я даже не подозревал, насколько насыщенной окажется эта поездка.
СПРАВКА ИЗ СЕТИ: Форт Красная горка – мощное береговое защитное сооружение, построенное в самом начале XX века недалеко от Кронштадтской крепости. Его призвание состояло в укреплении позиции российского флота в Финском заливе и защите Северной столицы от нападения вражеских кораблей.
Нам благоприятствовала погода. Стоял солнечный день и небо было полностью безоблачным. Мы уже проехали Петергоф и Ораниенбаум, миновали поворот на Кронштадт и через какое-то время свернули в сторону Финского залива. Лена сразу предупредила - там будет очень интересно.
В глубину соснового леса вела грунтовая дорога. Мы остановились на парковке и дальше двинулись пешком. Вскоре показались какие-то строения и сестра сказала, что это большой бывший военный комплекс с музеем и большая обзорная площадка со старинными реликвиями прошлых времён.
Стало понятно, что когда-то в этом месте располагался крупный береговой форт. Тут и там мы увидели полузаброшенную технику, орудия и бетонные укрепления, которые тянулись в глубину леса. Мне всегда нравятся такие места и я тут же принялся фотографировать.
К сожалению, музей был в тот день закрыт. Мне даже показалось, что он вообще закрыт на реставрацию, потому что вокруг было много строительных лесов. Впрочем, ещё недавно тут всё работало, всюду лежали разные экспонаты, висели информационные стенды. Большая часть старинных орудий была демонтирована.
Исследовав первую часть форта, мы двинулись дальше. Когда-то здесь кипела воинская жизнь, в прежние вреена тут пролегало несколько веток железной дороги. Сейчас это место лишь памятник, который рассказывает туристам о прошлых временах и исторических событиях начала 20-го века.
Завтра мы продолжим осматривать форт и я покажу огромное орудие, установленное на рельсах. Также будет ещё много других фотографий из этого удивительного места. Наш день только начинался, но дальше нас ждало много всего интересного. А на сегодня у меня всё!
