The Diary Game || 5 September 21

As-salamu alaykum!

This is my first post for Diary games. Here it goes!

Morning
I woke up around 5:40am to pray Fajr. After praying Fajr, we prepared to leave for breakfast at Cafe Imran which is in Gharo ,approximately 1 hour drive from Karachi. If any of you live in Karachi and haven't had breakfast at that place, do go there. The ambiance is good and they serve quality food too!

The journey was simple as there was little traffic because of early hours. After having our breakfast there, we decided to tap Bhambore on our way back. Bhambore has a museum which was kind of exciting for me as I have a little knack for history. When we reached bhambore, we were surprised to know that timings for museum were starting from 9:00am. So we thought to visit excavation site.

This was the entrance. It was exciting to see that they used stones for building up the entrance area and stones were laid in strong formation. A little about Bhambore: The city was established in 1st Century BC. It was taken under protection by Hindu/Buddhist rule in 2nd Century AD and then went under Muslim rule in 8th Century AD. There is some speculation that it is the historical city of Debal, the same Debal Muhammad Bin Qasim conquered on his travel to Asia.

One of the first mosque of South Asia is situated in Bhambore. It was a sight to see. There was a plain space with maroon
colored bricks with surrounding area for making Wudu.

There were also settlement areas.

From the looks of it, most of the structure was lost either during excavation or towards the end of the settlement in that area. What remained was just foundations of what used to be houses.

The downfall of Bhambore resulted from changing of course of The Mighty Indus in or after 13th Century BC.
After completing the visit, we headed back to Karachi.
