So I had to gather all my energy for getting out of the bed. I ironed my party dress, actually the first dress I saw in my wardrobe. I jumped into the shower for freshening up and hoping that it would lessen my tiredness. I changed, put on some make up and my myself ready before my husband arrived.
When I thought everything was sorted and I was ready to go my husband told me the dress he would be wearing for the party had to be ironed. Cursing him silently, dolled up as I was, I ironed his clothes and we were finally ready to leave. We reached the dinner destination, the famous Habibi restaurant at around 1945 hrs, when I came to know that the party was not a friend's place but at one of the most delicious Pakistani food franchises around. The place washed away the feelings of tiredness and temper.
As is expected, the restaurant was crowded but my husband and his friends had already booked a floor for the gathering so we didn't have to wait for seating and eating.
There were a few friends with their families, we started gossiping and suddenly the day started to feel like moving towards a happy ending. The food ordered was mostly the famous barbecue platters of Habibi along with some chowmen and chicken Karahi.
We had food in abundance to fill our tummies, with the cheatest of days for those of us doing gym or atleast thinking to loose a few pounds.
The food, the gossips, the unprecedented jokes and the remembrance of old times made the couple of hours spent there worthwhile. In the end we had a photo session to capture the memories forever and after all the cribs of the day and the week it finally ended on a hectic but very happy note.
And wait, this was not the end, after leaving the restaurant myself and husband stopped at the delicious Peshawari ice cream stall to put in some more pounds in our flesh and fill up any space of left in our stomachs.
All said and done, it was a day to remember, the sequence of events I felt like I should be sharing with you all because sometimes these unplanned small little events bring up the unforgettable memories. God speed to all and Happy October.
