Last weekend, we planned to go to Islamabad and have quality time together as a family. My elder child has been making unrealistic wishes for the past few months. One day he wants to go to Canada to see Ice Hockey and the next day he wants to visit Paris and see Eiffel Tower. He also wants to travel there in our car. It took us some time to make him realize that both Canada and Paris are oceans apart not in the next town, we can't go there whenever we like and especially in our car.
Moreover, to fulfill such kind of a wish, I would have to power down at least half of my SP and at the current rate, I doubt if the whole SP would be sufficient. As much as I want to travel the world, I wouldn't go for this option. I love my powerful and growing account. -
As mama refused to use her crypto assets, a cheaper option was opted to satisfy the kids - Islamabad.
The capital is the best choice for a relaxing weekend trip for us. We left in the evening and it took us 2 hours to reach our guestroom.
The next morning, we went out in search of a good breakfast. Thanks to social media, it was easy to find numerous good places. We chose Street1 Cafe.

Breakfast with kids is a little challenging. They are sleepy, cranky, and hungry. To kill the time between placing orders and food arrival, we have to keep them busy. The little one is easily satisfied with Youtube Kids. The elder one is a little tricky to handle but if you are Sheldon Cooper and love to answer nonstop inexplicable questions even with an empty stomach then it's no big deal for you. I'm not even close to Sheldon, perhaps I am Penny.
We spent the afternoon in a shopping mall to kill the afternoon heat at the expense of buying a silly cat for 3000 PKR (62 STEEM). Umm.. not entirely silly, it's kind of cute, moves its head and wags its tail, and of course meows but it's a TOY. I don't usually buy everything kids put their hands on but this time I couldn't control myself when I saw my little son cuddling with that cat and wasn't ready to let it go.
At around 6 pm, we headed to Bahria Enclave Zoo and The Bird Aviary.
This zoo is not that big and nothing close to the DANZOO in Bahria Town Karachi. However, we had limited options so we made peace with those. Kids were enjoying and that was the purpose of the trip.
The place had peacocks in abundance and every other bird was flashing its colorful feathers which is a rare thing. I believe they had a lot of friends around which gave them confidence. XD
What I didn't like was that lions, tigers, and leopards were all sleeping. My kids tried shouting at them in hopes of waking them up but all to no vain.
Disappointed, we walked towards other cages. We saw deer, llamas, chimpanzees, bears, and ponies.
Right next to the zoo was a Birdy Aviary. It was the most beautiful aviary I have ever seen in Pakistan. Very vibrant and had beautiful birds. The only negative thing was the shrilly voice of some birds. XD

Only toucan and cockatoo were kept in cages in an air-conditioned room. Other birds were in the aviary.
The view from this bridge was spectacular. Pictures don't do the justice. The vibrant colors were quite appealing for kids.
It was a fun day. I have to go out for dinner now. Might continue with the trip stories some other day. (:

That's cool! I would be happy if our kids would suggest what we want to do for lunch ;-))
A family outing like this can be very interesting for everyone. We have also experienced a lot... :-))
Looks like there's a playground in the aviary. But the visitors can only enter the aviary via the bridge, right?

My kids would never make a suggestion for lunch. At this age, all they dream about is toys and play areas.
Such family outings can be very beneficial for kids' learning.
There wasn't a playground, those structures were just for birds to have fun. XD
Visitors enter from a reception room/office and from that room there's another door that further opens into the aviary. The bridge was in the center of the aviary, probably to enjoy the bird-view.

Oh, did you mention non-stop questions coming from kids? Please, I am open to all the tips Ma'am 😂
I have a cousin aged 4 and she always comes up with non-stop meaning-less questions whenever she visits me. Not always meaningless actually, sometimes her questions leave me thinking 'Why did I never thought about it'
Kids have indeed the purest soul.
Being able to take out time for your kids and spending bucks for their happiness is a big big blessing.
I remember when I was a kid, whenever summer vacations arrive I would force my dad to take us to holidays. And by holidays I mean somewhere out of country, but he being a brown dad would always take us to the zoo 😂. So your post reminded me of good old times ❤️
May God shower His countless blessing on you and your family. I really enjoy reading your post :))

There's no other way except answering all questions patiently. I advice you to refrain from saying, "I don't know". Otherwise, they will throw more questions at you like why don't you know anything. 🙂
Haha, I have done the same to my dad and he mostly used to take us to relatives but he also put efforts in showing us around Pakistan to which I'm grateful.
Thank you so much for your prayers. 💫

Hihi, new business idea: maybe I should take a fee if people stop at our garden fence to look. It's rather unusual to keep sheep in the garden - even in the country side... 😂

Very nice family trip to the zoo :) It looks like the zoo is quite large and has exotic animals. You have a very successful photo of a peacock.
My daughter loves animals. 30 km from my city there is a recreation center for animals, where wild animals are rescued and, if possible, thrown into the wild. Those animals that cannot be released are left at the local zoo. We were frequent visitors there.
Thank you, I was happy to read your post :)

It was easy to take such pictures of peacocks.. A lot of them were flashing their feathers.
The zoo was actually small but it was well-maintained and had good variety of animals.
How old is your daughter? Do you get to visit it now or the war doesn't allow such activity?
It's good that they consider throwing them into the wild.
Thank you for visiting my post.

She will turn 7 in July.
It is now possible to visit a zoo in my area. But there were unpredictable difficulties. Now there is a fuel crisis, all gas stations are empty. The government says it is temporary. Sometimes fuel appears, but at a price twice as high as before. Given these realities, we do not plan to go anywhere yet.
But this problem was easily solved. We went for a while to the village. There is a dog, a cat, chickens and even a cow. And she has a parrot and an aquarium. So the child now has her own zoo :)

Islamabad is definitely peaceful and beautiful. There are some good attractions but not enough. I couldn't find a Water Sports Park. 🧐
InshaAllah.
