Guidelines for Newcomers - All You Need to Know is Here

We have many new members in the community who are clueless about Steemit and community rules. It's been a long time since there had been a guidance post. Therefore, I decided to compile whatever comes to my mind in this post and save the time and hassle for all the newbies trying to figure out things on their own.

Let's begin with the first and most important step:

Verification Through Introduction in Newcomers' Community

If you are not a verified user then I recommend you first get yourself verified. Is it mandatory? Not by the Steemit team but most communities on Steemit have made it compulsory to avoid any kind of abuse. Steemit Pakistan is among those communities that take the verification of a user very seriously.

You should read Notice Board of Newcomers Community. You will see that there are some achievements tasks that users are recommended to complete.

We ask you to complete at least achievement 1 which is basically Verification Through Introduction.

The rest of the tasks are not mandatory by the Steemit Pakistan community but if you complete those, you will be doing yourself a favor as you will get very useful information about this platform which will come in handy all the time.

Achievement tasks are also upvoted by steemcurator03.

Once your achievement 1 is verified, you should paste its link under each of your posts.

All About Clubs

If you have completed achievement 2 then you must know all about POWER UP. It's basically converting STEEM into STEEM POWER. The more STEEM POWER you have, the more influence you have on the platform, the more your vote's worth and the more curation rewards you can earn. Most importantly, it can help boost the STEEM economy.

Instead of withdrawing all the rewards, you should be powering up some. Last year, the Steemit team made it compulsory to power up a significant amount of rewards if a user wants to be supported by the Steemit team's curation accounts or wants to be of the team's initiatives.

There are three clubs, you can join any of these.

By now, you must have been told to use #steemexclusive in your posts. Why?
This is not just a tag, this means that your content should be exclusively created for Steemit. It shall not be shared on any other platform. If your content is exclusively for Steemit then use the #steemexlcuive tag.

The Steemit team encourages publishing only steem-exclusive content.

This is also an initiative by the Steemit team that is supposed to help strengthen the STEEM economy. For more details on the topic read this post:

Only use the tag # burnsteem25 if you are setting 25% beneficiary to the account @null.

How To Get Upvotes?

This is the most asked question. Let me shatter your expectations by this:

Votes are not guaranteed.

If you follow all the rules and do excellent in your blogs, even then votes are not guaranteed. It will merely increase your chances of getting upvotes but will not confirm it. So as a golden rule, Never keep your hopes high or write something for rewards.

Now you will still ask what can increase the chances of getting upvotes?!

• Following all the above rules - clubs, no plagiarism, steemexclusive, quality, etc.
• And the most important rule - Engagement

Blogging is all about building an audience and making a relationship with your audience. You can only do so by reading what others have to say. Go upvote and read the posts of your fellows, and leave genuine comments. Try to get into a meaningful conversation relevant to their post.
