How to please a toddler on his 2nd birthday? They won't even remember these initial years. However, these little celebrations can leave a positive impact on a child in the long run. With that thought in mind, I always try to make my kids' days special.

It was my toddler's 2nd birthday and my elder son already started planning with me a week ago. He suggested, the baby loves Blippi so we should have a Blippi-customized cake for him. I liked his suggestion because the baby definitely is crazy about this show.

One day prior to the birthday, we went to a bakery and showed them the kind of cake we wanted. I was a little skeptical because it was our first time ordering a customized cake from that place. However, the samples were brilliant and we were already familiar with their great flavors. Therefore, we finalized the order.

Later, we went for present-shopping about which the kids were most excited. When it comes to presents, I always try to buy something educational or you can say anything useful besides a toy. Because, rest of the year, kids only buy toys for themselves.

We bought a book called, My First Words and a sensory learning machine with alphabets and numerics. As an afterthought, we bought a toy as well. We didn't want to burden or bore a two-year-old. However, the toy was an anti-stress item with which we all plan to play.

I woke up with a nasty headache the next morning. Thirties already hitting me hard with weird pains. The other day, my knees were wobbly.

I spent most of the day with my head in my hands. In the afternoon, I got a little better and started working on the backdrop and table décor. Blippi's costume is blue and orange and these are also his favorite colors. Therefore, this was our theme.

I cut huge orange glasses, a bow tie and a cap. All these things (except bow tie) with balloons went on wall. I transformed the table into a shirt with bow tie and buttons. The end result was decent. Nothing close to professional but I was satisfied and that's all that matters. Ha-ha

The baby was sleeping when we were setting up the place. We were so excited to see his reaction as he's very expressive. To our utter surprise, when he woke up and saw the setup, he got so furious and stormed back into the room with his eyes all welled up. What was that? I tried to calm him down with a hug.

He came out after some time but he was not going near the table. He can't say much words at this age but one of the few words, that he can pronounce is "bad". He clearly announced, pointing towards the cake and all the décor, "bad".

Anyways, we kept trying to cheer him up. Candle Sparklers lifted his mood eventually. But I had to cut the cake myself. Slowly, he started taking in everything and chanted happily pointing at the big glasses, blippi cake-topper and balloons.

He loved his presents. Can you guess what did he like the most? His book. He's not putting it down and the bibliophile in me loves it.

Can you guess what are we doing now? Punching a toothy guy and releasing stress.
