The Diary Game | First Birthday of My Son | Aug 22, 2021

Hello dear Steemians,

Finally, it's Sunday. This week had been a roller coaster for me. Each day of the week came up with something new. A lot was going on. May family friends were moving to another city so there was a farewell party almost every evening. I was a bit sad about the departure of some really good friends. But this is life.

Like I was saying, finally, it was Sunday but this day couldn't be ordinary like the rest. It had to be extraordinary. Today was the first Birthday of my second-born, Mahad. It feels just like yesterday that he came into this world. Time literally flies.

I placed an order for the cake the other day, but so many other chores needed to be done. After breakfast, I decided to first deep clean the house in the morning as few guests were coming in the evening.

It's a thing in Pakistan that when guests are expected, we turn the house upside down and clean every nook and corner. Lol

I took the cleaning task and husband did the grocery. After about 2 hours, I was done with cleaning. Then we had lunch and decided to go the stationery shop to buy some birthday supplies.

The cake that I had ordered was sky blue and hot air blue themed. So I decided to maintain the theme and bought everything blue and white.. There were hints of some other colors too. I got some balloons, napkins, colored papers. I also got printed some hot air balloons.

After the stationery shop, I went to buy some sweets ane candies for children. When I came back home, it was already 4 in the afternoon. The time for guests was 8pm.

I immediately took the stuff and started decorating the backdrop. I made some clouds using white chart paper and cotten. Then I made a banner with written ONE on it.

Then I pasted some balloon prints and blew some reall balloons and fixed them on the wall.

After that, it was the turn of the table. I placed all the decorative stuff and sweets and candies on the table.

When it turned six, I went to the kitchen to prepare dinner. I was so tired by that time. But I had no option. There were two dished that I made at home. Payee and Chicken Chili Dry with Garlic Rice. Ordered some more snacks from the Mess.

Everything was ready by 8pm and with that the guests arrived.

Finally, we helped little Mahad in cutting the cake. Those were some heart moments. Elder son was completely euphoric as he just loves birthdays.

Everyone was hungry so we digged into the dinner and decided to the eat the cake afterward.

It was lovely evening with some good family friends. Our kids enjoyed a lot playing with each other. Mahad was confused, what's going on in the house. He had no clue about the but he was happy and clapped a lot for himself.
