An Evening with the Victors

It was another day, holding another adventure and experience for me. Today, the alarm didn't wake me, but a phone call did. “Reach KPT Stadium at 5:00 p.m. We are having a football match remember?”, I was told by my coach. So basically, a friendly match was going to be held in the evening. I was informed about it a week ago. Some special guests were also invited there, and to be very honest, nothing can excite me more than a football match. Football is something that I’ve grown up with. It is the only thing that has experienced with me my good times, bad times, testing times, inshort, football is not a part of my life but part of me. My goal is to become a well known football player from Pakistan.

Anyhow, I went for a morning walk after so many days due to that knee injury. Alhamdulillah I recovered fast and was finally coming back to the routine. Watching the birds chirping around is a very peaceful sight, and gives a very fresh start to your day. After breakfast, I went to the market for some grocery purpose and coincidentally, met an old school friend there, with whom I hadn't been in touch after school so it was a pleasure seeing him.

So, the day was going quite well and now it was time to leave for the stadium. The stadium was 15 minutes away from my place, so I reached it within the given time. After some time, the special guests arrived. And yes, this is what we call a fan moment! I didn't know earlier who the guests were for the evening but when I saw them with my eyes, in front of me, I was in awe.

The people in front of me were very well known personalities of Pakistan. One was Saddam Hussain, the captain of Pakistan Football Team and the other was Alamgir Khan Ghazi, the most explosive player Pakistan has ever produced. Both of them was so humble and kind. It was a great pleasure meeting the finest football players we have, together! The match was overall good. After the match, all of us had tea with the guests and what a gesture it was to experience!

So finally, the day that started well, ended much better. Indeed, it was a memorable day, because when you meet someone who you admire a lot, it becomes a memory that gives you happiness that lasts forever.
