April 2021, I remember when I joined Steemit, I knew nothing about it. On my first post in the Newcomers Community, I received a comment from an account named @haidermehdi. On this account was a tag which read Country Representative Pakistan. I was fascinated by it. I wondered what this means and how amazing would it be to have it next to your name. Slowly, I got to know what a country representative is and what responsibilities does this title hold. One thing was for sure, that it isn't easy to have it next to your name. So I worked for it, I worked hard for and finally this week, I was chosen as the Country Representative Pakistan alongside 3 other users. You can read the announcement here:

With great power comes great responsibility and I can already feel it. In this post, I'm accepting my role as a country representative Pakistan as well and mention my plans for the development of Steemit in my country and what steps will I take for Steem growth.

Steem Growth is an integral part of Steemit as it should be. Lately we've been witnessing a depreciation in the value of Steem which should be a big reason of concern for all the users on Steemit. An attempt of overcoming this issue was made by the team in the form of the #clubs. This initiative played an important part in the sustenance of the Steem ecosystem. Lately we have had the #burnsteem25 initiative in which we burn steem which in turn decreases the supply; another attempt of maintaining the price of Steem. The point being, everyone on this platform wants the price of Steem to increase and a few of us are working towards bringing that change as well, but all good things take time and similarly this will too.

I have been curating the tag #steemgrowth since last month and it has given some hope that there are a lot of users who are determined to bring a change on this platform. Then be it from Powering up, bringing more users to Steemit or adding valuable content.

Coming to the role of Country Representatives, from my time on Steemit, I have understood that CRs play an extremely important part in the development of Steem and Steemit in their respective regions. They have a lot of responsibilities and in the next paragraph, I'll be mentioning the things I have in mind as a Country Representative Pakistan:

Awareness. Awareness. Awareness. In a country of more than 200 million people, only a few hundred on Steemit is rather concerning. There's a lack of awareness in Pakistan of Decentralized platforms like Steemit. Steemit could be a good source of earning specially fir housewives and for aspiring students who can try their luck on this platform alongside their studies.

Steemit Promotion is very important in my views. I have been a strong advocate and have also worked a lot for Steemit promotion in my area. From conducting seminars to virtual promotion to printing Steemit shirts, I have been doing Steemit Promotion for a long time now. I believe as a Country Representative, it will now be a better oppurtunity to have Promotional events which will in turn bring more users to Steemit.

Knowledge about the crypto world in general, would also play an important part in the development of Decentralized platforms in my region. As an active user of the Crypto academy and having vast knowledge about the Crypto world, I intend on spreading Crypto Knowledge to the people in my region.

For instance, I have managed to bring some users to Steemit, now there needs to be someone who'll guide them once they are here on this platform. I remember how uplifting it felt when I signed up on Steemit and the country representatives of Pakistan guided me on my first post. I will continue the legacy and make sure every new user feels like home on Steemit.

With all the new plans and schemes devised, I look forward to an amazing time as a country representative of Pakistan. Ofcourse there's still a lot to learn as the learning process never ends. No matter at position you are, where you are or what you're doing, there's always something new to learn and I'll make sure that I become a better student every passing day.
