Let's Talk Paranormal | My Experience with Ghost Dog | by @josantos

Hello everyone, I'm happy to present my entry here in this great community. This contest was organised by @event-horizon on the topic Let's Talk Paranormal. Here in this contest, I will be sharing with us all a true life story of an incident that happened not too long ago.

As a barrack boy, my father most times goes to duty. This duty as it is seen in my country Nigeria is a time when my father goes to guard as a soldier. It is usually turned into a turn routine. Normally he goes and comes back in the evening to eat before he will finally go back and sleep till the next day. They are usually two or three soldiers on guard on each duty post. So as one is going home, the other stays back and that is how they continue the process at night they both sleep there together.

On this faithful day, my father was the only person who was on guard because there were not a lot of soldiers in the barracks at that time. So they decided to put on guard just a few soldiers available. Because he was the only person on duty on that faithful day, he couldn't live in the place of his guard and for that reason, he called my mum and told her to give me his food so that I can bring it to him.

It was already past 8:00 pm and there was no light. I took the food to the duty post. As I approach the location, I saw a dog at the centre of the road which is very abnormal. This dog has a human head with a dog body. I was so terrified and I screamed, the dog started coming closer to me and I continue shouting, the moment my father heard my shout, he hurriedly came to my aid.

When the dog saw someone coming he approaches me even more closely and out of fear I fell to the ground and my father shut his gun to the air and that was how we saw the dog disappear. My father now asked what type of a dog is this with a human head. And asked if I recognise the face but I told him no. I was shivering all through that day and I told him I can't go back home because I fear may be the same thing may attack me again.

The experience was indeed a horrible one, the feat in me won't allow me to close my eyes the whole night. I have never experienced such an incident in my life again. This incident has left a wound in my heart such that anytime I set my eyes on a dog alone I picture the incident I came in contact with. This is my true life story and I'm delighted to have to share it with you all. I do hope you enjoy reading my article today.
