Hello everyone! Hope you all are doing well. I've been a little inactive lately on steemit and that is because I had gone for a short trip to Lahore. I came home 5 days ago and now that I'm back to the same routine, I cant help but miss the wonderful time I spent there with my family and friends. I keep looking at the pictures on my phone to relive the wonderful memories I made there and so I thought why not share the details of my trip with my steemit family too. It was a 4 days trip and we did a lot of stuff. I'll give you an overview of all the activities that we did each day. Hope you enjoy! :)

DAY 1

Our journey started on 9th Nov '21. My husband went to office in the morning while I packed our bags and other important stuff. We had planned this trip with 10 families so we had lots of kids on this trip as well. Since Lahore is relatively warmer than where we live, I prepared a medicine box for all of us just incase anybody got sick due to change of weather.

My husband arrived home at 11:30am. We loaded our car with all our luggage and began our journey at 1pm.

Our route to Lahore was quite long. It was a 6 hour drive so we decide to take a little break at Bhera motorway service area to freshen up and eat something. We went to McDonald's and ordered our meals. I was eating at McDonald's after a long time and was shocked to see how pathetic it had gotten, both quality and quantity wise. The only thing I enjoyed eating was their Brownie Sundae. It was absolutely delicious; you must give it a try!

Anyway, we finally reached Lahore at 7pm. Our rooms were booked at Indigo Heights Hotel and we went straight to our rooms to freshen up.

Our dinner was planned at The Monal Resturant. The food was good and we had a good time chatting with each other. Then, we went back to our rooms at 10pm as we were all dead tired and wanted to do nothing else but sleep.

DAY 2

The next day we woke up at 9am and went downstairs for breakfast. It was great to have such a nice breakfast after a long time with my husband and daughter.

The food was delicious and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

After Breakfast, we decided to take our daughter to the zoo. It was her first time seeing all the animals that she had otherwise only seen in books or on TV so she was really excited.

Next, we went to visit the Shahi Qila and Badshahi Masjid.

We were accompanied by a guide who explained to us the history of Mughal and Sikh empires in great detail.

It was fascinating to see the wonderful monuments. I noticed the Fort was also under renovation. It was good to see our government taking interest in preserving our cultural heritage.

Here you can see the Magnificent Badshahi Mosque. We were all in awe of the beautiful architectural forts built by the people of that era.

Later that evening, we went to Haveli restaurant which was located in the premises of the Fort. After dinner, we went back to our hotel to get some rest. At night, all the men of our group planned to out for dessert leaving us ladies behind. So as an act of rebellion, I insisted the ladies that we make our own plan and go to Butler's Café for dessert. So we all sat in a car and drove ourselves to Butler's to enjoy.

DAY 3

The next day we went to Packages Mall for some shopping. Had a good time there as well and got the opportunity to avail some amazing sales on many brands. Around 4pm we were instructed to reach at the Wagah-Attari Border to attend the lowering of the flags ceremony.

This was the highlight of our entire trip. It was great to see how everyone displayed great patriotism throughout the ceremony.

It was so much fun! Truly an exciting and an unforgettable experience for all of us.

For dinner we went to The Skye restaurant which was located on the rooftop of our hotel. The weather was great and the food was really good too so we had a great time.

We also watched live Pak vs Aus cricket match while having dinner. Unfortunately, Pakistan lost and all were heartbroken.

DAY 4

On the fourth day, I planned to take all the ladies of our group to a salon to get some time off from our motherhood duties and to get ourselves pampered. We demanded from our husbands that they keep the kids with them so that we can relax and that they give us 5000 Rupees each so that we can get our desired services. Our men kindly and generously complied with our demands. We went to Madeeha's Beauty Salon to get our services. I went for a protein facial along with a manicure and pedicure. It was the most relaxing thing ever.

After that, we came back to our rooms to get some rest and to freshen up for our trip to Joyland Amusement Park. It was a bit crowded when we got there and I was really concerned to see how the rides were setup so close to each other. I also wasn't feeling well so I took only one ride. The kids however had a blast and really enjoyed their time there.

Our husbands were also very excited to take the rides. They went on two rides; Top Spin and Discovery and it was CRAZY.

In the end, we went to Ziafat for dinner. Personally, I didn't like anything about that restaurant and wouldn't go there again but we still had a good time there chatting with each other.
After dinner, we were so tired that we went back to our hotel and just dozed off.

DAY 5

On the fifth day, our trip came to an end. We woke up in the morning and had our last breakfast in Lahore. Then packed our bag and began our journey back to our homes.
Somebody had recommended me to try ice-creams by a shop called Paradise that was located really close to our hotel so we went there to have it. I ordered their Brownie Ice-cream and so we ended our trip on a very sweet note.

Took a U-turn and waved our hotel good bye one last time and continued our journey to Risalpur.

Finally, after a long drive, we were glad to be back. No matter where you go, no place can beat the ultimate pleasure you get from being in the comfort of your own home. This trip was much needed for our sanity and I'm so happy that I got to spend such a great time with my family and friends. Looking forward to going on such trips again in future but as of now, my husband and I are back to our duties in full swing.

Thank you for reading my post. I hope you enjoyed it.
