This is an informative Blog post about Islamic History. As the title names, today I'm going to share some facts about ancient Spain, namely Al-Andalusia in Arabic.

Introduction:

Islam has a rich and vast history as it was the first religion created and Allah's favourite religion. It gives guidance in every aspect of life and thus in short is a complete code of life. From such a rich history, I am today writing about Spain as it is one of my favourite destinations. Spain is a centre of arts and many creative works, scientists and researchers once live there under the influence of Islam. Cordoba was once a Muslim city in the Middle Ages.

Spain has always been a significant historical landmark with major importance in Europe on the Iberian Peninsula, which was mostly ruled by feudal lords. The Natives of Spain, especially the Jews, led oppressed lives. When the Umayyad Governor, Musa bin Nusair received a complaint from a nobleman, Court Julian of Ceuta about the misconduct of the Visigoth King Rodriguez, he sent Tariq bin Ziyad with an army of seven thousand men to defeat the king.

Tariq Bin Ziyad and his army arrived in Gibraltar in 711 CE. The Muslims fought bravely against the Visigoth army led by King Rodriguez. The Muslims achieved a decisive victory at the Battle of Guadalete at Gibraltar, Spain, on 19 July 711 CE.

The Spanish forces could not fight back, hence, Tariq bin Ziyad conquered almost the entire Spanish territory. The oppressed peasants and Jews of Al-Andalusia welcomed the Muslim armies. The Muslim rulers established a system governed by justice and equality and gave religious freedom to the people of all religions.
