Hello everyone! How is everyone? I hope everything is going great.

Eid.

Eid al fitr is celebrated by Muslims around the globe on 1st of Shawwal. It is celebrated after fasting for the whole month of Ramadan and no one can fast on this day. It is the only day of shawwal when Muslims cannot fast. Eid prayers are consisted of two rakats but they are a bit different from the prayers that we observe everyday. They have 6 additional takbirs; 3 in the first rakat and 3 in the second. Let’s not go deep into this and start with my plans for this eid.

This year is just like last year; different and difficult for everyone as we are going through a pandemic 😷. We will have to keep distance, wear masks and sanitise our hands every other minute. We can still celebrate the day while we follow SOPs.

So as always, first thing I’ll do after waking up is pray fajr. Every year on both Eid days, I along with my brothers, father, uncle, and his sons we go to the graveyard to visit our grandparents’ graves and to pray for them. After coming back, I will have some dessert and then start preparing for the prayer. Take shower, wear new clothes and then call everyone to go to the mosque together by walking. I’ll take my own prayer mat due to COVID-19. Anyway after praying, I’ll meet with everyone and come home with my homies. While coming back we’ll go to our relatives’ homes to meet them. We’ll sit there for some time and come back home. It’s time for food! We’ll have food together and after that it’s a boring day. We’ll have two options:

  1. Sleep
  2. Netflix

We’ll go with the second option most probably. We’ll watch something together to kill some time and after that everyone goes to their respective homes.

This year I have bought just 2 suits; off white and brown.

I got my shoes from peshawar, from the man named Nooruddin. He’s the one who makes shoes for the prime minister of Pakistan, Imran khan. I didn’t go to peshawar because he’s my father’s friend so he brought the shoes for me.

Let’s spend this Eid by following SOPs. Stay safe everyone. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
