I trust you're doing great and all things are favourable to you to a great extent.

I wish to commend the crew members of this community for the great job they are doing. Please, keep it up.

I am very pleased to be involved in this contest

I am a Nigerian. This means that I was born in Nigeria and that my parents are Nigerians. Nigeria is a country in Western Africa.

Nigeria was colonized by Britain and the name Nigeria was coined from 'Niger and Area' and She was named by Flora Shaw who was the wife of Lord Frederick Lugard who was the first Governor-general of the new Nigeria under British rule.

Nigeria is the largest populated country in Africa with over 200 billion people. Nigeria has 36 states and capitals with the capital city as Abuja.

Our official language is English because we were colonized by Britain.
We speak over 200 native languages but the most prominent ones are Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba because they are the three dominant tribes.

Nigeria is blessed with a vast grass land and our climate is quite favourable for agriculture, hence a lot of us are farmers despite our level of education.

Some of our national symbols in include:

• Our currency which is the Naira and kobo.

• Our national Coat of Arms.

• Our national Flag

• Our national Anthem and Pledge etc.

The Reasons why I like my country.

📗 Freedom of Religion and Movement

In Nigeria, we have the freedom to belong to any religion of our choice.

The dominant religions are Christianity which is practiced more by the people in the East And South; Islam which is practiced by those in the North and South.

We have freedom to go to any where we want. We travel to any part of the country without any restrictions of whatsoever.
You can live in any part of the country that you so wish.

📗 Nigeria is blessed with beautiful climate, tourists attraction areas and natural resources.

Nigeria has little or no harsh weather conditions.

We have the seasons of the rain and shine respectively.

The rainy season provides us with water, cools the hot weather and provides water for our crops to grow and flourish.

When it's sun shine, our bodies receive warmth and it ushers in holidays and family reunions.🥰🤗.

Our natural resources which include petroleum, coal and other agricultural produce which encourages economic growth and fosters international trade.

A lot of tourists visit my country to visit some beautiful places like The Ogudu Cattle ranch.

📗 Our Annual Festivals

My country has lots of annual festival which is celebrated by her citizens. These annual festivals showcases our rich cultural heritage, values and tradition.

Some of these festivals are;

  1. The Argungun Fishing Festival in the North.

  2. The New Yam festival in the East which ushers in the harvesting of yams and other crops.

3 The Calabar Festival which is one of the largest festival in Africa. People from all over the world attend this festival.

📗 We have the freedom to education.

All Nigerians have the freedom to go to school and attain any level of education that they want.
There is no restrictions as regards any course of study.

Our government allows three basic levels of education which ranges from Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Education.

Nigerians are some of the smartest people in the world.
Nigerians are not lazy.

They can survive in any situation they find themselves. There's is no part o the world where you would not find a Nigerian.

They're are fast at learning and good at what they do.

Things I would like to change in my country are;

🛑 Our Corrupt Political Practices.

Despite all the the blessings we have received from God and nature, a lot of our people are still suffering and living in abject poverty.

This is as a result of the Corrupt Political class in our country who care only for their pockets and that of their families.

If I have my way to change anything, I would change the set of corrupt politicians in our country for good. Our people deserve to be happy and fulfilled.

🛑 Our educational system.

Like I said before, Nigerians are very smart and outstanding in whatever career and environment they find themselves.

We have this zeal to survive against all odds but our educational system is not encouraging our people.

Like right now, our universities have been on strike for some Months now and the even threatening to stay longer if their demands are not met and our government is not doing anything about it.

Young adults that should be studying for a better tomorrow are sitting at home doing nothing.

🛑 I would put in place rules and regulations that would totally put an end to domestic Violence against women and the girl child.

A lot of women are dieing silently in their homes and in the hands of the their husbands.

If I had the opportunity to change anything, I would enact laws that would bring to justice anyone who commits these crimes.

Women deserve all the peace and happiness they can get especially in their homes because they go through a lot.

In Conclusion

I love my country, I am very proud of her too and I strongly believe that Nigeria will be great again.

I am inviting my friends @beautybb, @ijebest, @goodybest, @mesola, @hannybanny, @steempotus and @gracie20 to join this contest.
