Different communities have different types of concept. In some communities cousin marriages are prohibited 🚫 but in some communities these type of marriages are considered as ideal marriages.

Social Aspects;

About 10% of marriages worldwide are between cousin and closer. No body talks about cousin marriage but at the same time people are worried about this issue because due to this rate of genetic disorder is increasing.

Reasons for Cousin marriage in Pakistan:

Pakistan is on record in practicing cousin marriage. It has these main reasons,

• Mostly it is practiced in rural, tribal and less educated communities.
• Culture of dowry support cousin marriage.
• Due to Islamic culture in Pakistan opposite gender interaction is less than other countries therefore marrying with cousin is most common.
• Not marrying in other caste.
• Inheritance division issues.
• A thought 💭 that marrying in outer caste will make generation impure.

Religious Views:

According to our religion Islam marriage between cousin are allowed. In surah Nisa a detailed list of relations is given in wich marrying your foster mother, your father's sister, your brothers daughter, your mother's sister, and your sisters daughter is not allowed. This list doesn't include your cousins.
For Example:
Hazrat Muhammad ( SAW) wife Hazrat Zainab Bint Jahsh was Hazrat Muhammad's Aunty's daughter.

Cousin marriage are prohibited in many countries in the world like in South Korea cousin marriage is banned upto 3rd generation. In Taiwan and North Korea Marriages first cousin is also prohibited. China, Vietnam, Philippines these all countries had abandoned cousin marriage.

Awareness about cousin marriage:

1. Medical treatment is necessary before marrying in this regard some tests are taken.
2. Awareness about the possible diseases.
3. We should increase our literacy rate.
4. Before pregnancy proper counselling is necessary.
5. By educating girls will make girls to enable them to take good decision for their lives.

Conclusion:

Pakistan is on record having maximum number of youngsters. As we know youngsters play important role in the development of any country. But due to increase in mental retardation and less learning capabilities will affect the rate of development. Instead taking part in the prosperity and welfare of mother land these youngsters become burden for Pakistan.
