"The Letter" is a song written by Wayne Carson that was first recorded by the American rock band the Box Tops in 1967. The song was the group's hit,a surprise hit, spending four weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1967. It later resurfaced as a cover version by Joe Cocker. In my cover I followed Joes live version from the 1988 concert for the Princes trust.
Hope u like it
One love

Give me a ticket for an aeroplane
I ain't got time to take no fast train
Oh, the lonely days are gone
I'll be right home
My baby she wrote me a letter
I don't care how much money I got to spend
I won't find my way home again
Oh the lonely days are gone
I'll be right home
My baby, she wrote me a letter
She wrote me a letter
Said she couldn't live with out me no more
Listen to me mister don't you ever xxxx
My baby once more
Anyway
Give me a ticket for an aeroplane
I ain't got time to take no fast train
Oh ,the lonely days are gone
I'll be back home
My baby she wrote me a letter
